Elizabeth Dianne McLeod says her husband Stanley pleaded with mortgage debt collectors, explaining that his heart problems were so serious that a helicopter once had to be called in to airlift him to a hospital.
Although this is very sad and the mortgage company should done a better job in handling this, it is a good lesson for each of us. Do not let this happen to you. Call your creditors and work with them. They will work with you to help with paying back the debt that you owe.
By working with them, they are more inclined to help rather than take a risky stance of moving your account to collections.
